What?

In conjunction with the LEEDAR Program, the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University hosts high school students with a strong interest in science and research, typically for a 6–8 week summer research experience. Participants work closely with Rutgers researchers including faculty and graduate students, gaining first-hand insight into academic research. They also become involved in a specific research project and receive experience in a university chemistry laboratory while learning about the process of scientific discovery.

Who?

Any high school junior or senior with a strong interest in chemistry and scientific research.  

When?

Typically six to eight weeks of research in a Rutgers laboratory, but specific dates will be arranged upon agreement with the professor who is Principal Investigator of the laboratory.

Why?

The LEEDAR Summer Research program provides an introduction to the process of scientific research and the college experience.
